My ex gf is 17 and is about 1 or 2 weeks pregnant. She wants me to help her with it but her parents banned us from seeing each other. Legally are they allowed to tell me i cant see her if shes pregnant with my child? She hasnt told her parents yet. What do i do. oh and im 17 as well. She won't get an abortion
As the father, you have a right to the child as well.Keep in mind that they don't know and that might effect their decision. If they don't change their mind after finding out, I would look into legal repersentaion. If you want to be able to be their for your child, you should be able to.
How do you know she's only 1 or 2 weeks? Most pregnacy tests are not sensitive enough to start detecting the HCG (pregnany) hormone until the first missed period which typically would be at least 2 weeks from the time of conception. Perhaps she's farther along than you think if she's testing positive. Anyways, legally her parents can do almost anything in this case because neither you or your ex gf are adults yourself. Your best bet is to get your ex gf to the doc (most cities have public health offices that may provide the service for free). Then, once they confirm she's pregnant your best bet is to just come clean with the parents. They're going to find out sooner or later. Don't lie to them and if your truly willing to stand by your ex girl through all this, maybe they'll get over it down the road and let you be a father to your baby.
Its wrong to block you out of your childs life. Teen Pregnancy: Housing, planned parenthood, legal adult:: This is more of a legal question. You can get agrements legaly though the courts for vists if her parents are that serious about you not seeing your child.
I think you should tell your parents and have everyone sit down with your girlfriends parents.
Your girlfriend could legally emancipate herself from her parents. I would get on this because if her parents are irrational they could try and force her to put the baby up for adoption and it would be a bit of a battle for you to get custody. Start by paying for half of the doctor bills even if its half the co-pay and get receipts. Make sure she puts you on the birth certificate.
Make it clear that you are not going to allow adoption by her parents or strangers because you will loose all rights to see your baby until he/she turns 18, even with those so called open adoptions. They are trap for the natural parents to give up the rights to their child. Yes, they can tell you that they don't want their daughter to see you and they can keep her from you.
That is why, once the baby is born, you should file for visitation in court so you can see your child and they cannot do a dang thing about it.
Mine as well get a part time job to help support your growing family!
She is 17 and you're 17...so how do you propose to pay for this baby? Have you both graduated HS, what about college or trade school? You seem to be worried about your rights, what about the child's rights? Every child has the right to be wanted, loved and cared for, what tools do you have currently to honestly help take the responsibility for this human being for the next 18 years of parenting? Ask the same question of the 17 yr. old girl? Do you have the assumption they want their daughter on welfare and food stamps? Parenting is hard work, just ask your own parents.....
