Sometimes when events in our awareness seem too distressing to think about, it helps to get the larger picture. Context always puts content in a better perspective. Hereâ ™s an example:
If you look at a forest, you can see individual differences, such as short trees, tall trees, twisted limbs, trees on the ground, etc. Would you try to run into the forest and fix the misshapen limbs, or stretch the short trees? The forest doesnâ ™t need fixing; it just isâ ”evolving just perfectly, and it is beautiful, when seen in the context of the forest itself. Humanity is like a forest: tall folks, short, handicapped, handsome, beautiful. The emotions that are all mixed in us: anger, shame, greed, pride, joy, love, courage, hate, and on and on are also part of our vast â śforest of humanity.â ť
Judgment about ourselves is common. â śYou donâ ™t believe whatâ ™s right, so Iâ ™ll kill you.â ť â śYou should do it this way, for your own good.â ť â śDid you see how awful so and so looked yesterday?â ť It is a rare day when each of us doesnâ ™t hear or think at least 5 judgments, donâ ™t you agree?
But opinions and judgments about those â śothersâ ť can easily be understood when seen in the perspective of the forest: Humanity is life unfolding, neither good nor bad. We can have compassion for those still ignorant of living in integrity, for they hurt themselves most, even when hating or killing. (It is said that when the British made the Australian aborigines jump off a cliff long ago, the aborigines were praying for the British.) Mikes America: Cant See the Forest for the Trees. Just as the many varieties of trees donâ ™t need fixing, when seen in context, we donâ ™t need to fix the world, either. We are evolving, awakening to our spiritual magnificence, and sometimes things look weird to us. We live in an energy field that is composed of our beliefs and thoughts. Everyone is free to do this, and weâ ™re all in this together. Seeing the big picture helps.
It is also helpful to note that the energy field changes with every thought or opinion you put into it. You can raise or lower the level of human consciousness a bit, just by being aware. Thatâ ™s how our world gradually changes into one of integrity. We are humanity awakening to our spiritual magnificence.
